Interested in consulting? A consultant (from Latin: consultare “to discuss”) is a professional who provides expert advice in a particular area (Wikipedia), or as we like to call it: rent-a-brain. As Advanced Degree Candidates (ADCs), we possess a unique ability to synthesize large amounts of information, structure and solve complicated problems, and provide expertise in our field of study. For these reasons, consulting firms have started to move towards hiring advanced degree candidates in addition to their class of MBAs each year. Want to learn more and get involved? We at Tufts have a number of great opportunities that you can participate in!
The Tufts Case Study Group (TCSG) was founded in 2012 to provide a space for interested students and post-docs to learn and practice the case solving method. While we are largely geared toward consulting interview preparation, we recognize the importance of case solving skills to an array of jobs. All are welcome to come learn, practice, and ace cases with us!
The Tufts Biomedical Business Club is pleased to announce the formation of the Tufts Advisory Partners (TAP). TAP offers pro bono consulting services to clients from a wide range of industries. We provide comprehensive market research, product commercialization advice, due diligence for investment decisions, and other services to meet the needs of our clients. This rigorous program offers volunteer graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in-depth, hands-on experience in consulting and leadership.
Tufts Biomedical Business Club takes a lead role in sponsoring the Tufts New England Case Competition (TUNECC) each year. This event brings trainees from across to United States and is the only case competition in the New England area that focuses on the life sciences industry.
The competition is held in August each year and focuses on structured problem solving for the global life sciences industry, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, vaccines/diagnostics.
Applications from Advanced Degree Candidates (PhD, MD, JD, Postdoc, and non-MBA Masters) from the Northeast who are interested in joining a life sciences consulting firm or a generalist firm with a strong life sciences practice and invited.
